John Stark senior guard Katie Cullerot has committed to play her college basketball at Division II Assumption College.
The sharpshooting Cullerot recently made her decision, and is now the third member of the girls Class of 2011 to make a college commitment. All three players will be playing either Division I or II basketball in college.
Katie had this to say about her decision:
"I was primarily looking in the NE-10 but narrowed it down to Assumption, SNHU, Manhattanville and Roger Williams. The deciding factor was Assumption's interest in me over the last three years. I had been to three or four unofficials and seen some games, but this past weekend when I went on my official visit I knew that this was the school that fit me best. The coaches and the team were great, and made me feel very comfortable. For me it was the best fit athletically and academically."
Cullerot is a deadly outside shooter, and she is equally effective shooting off the catch or the dribble. The 5'9 guard is a tough defender and a very smart player as well. She played AAU for the NH Lady Bombers where she was able to showcase her skills and play against a high level of competition. During last year's high school season Cullerot made second team All-State in Class I as a junior.
Cullerot is the third player from the girls Class of 2011 two commit to a school to play college basketball. The first to were Oyster River's Danielle Walczak (University of Maine) and Conant's Brooke Springfield (Southern New Hampshire University).
Cullerot plans to major in business management at Assumption.
Congratulations to Katie, and best of luck at Assumption!
