Hodgson Commits to SUNY Plattsburgh

He was a starter and key player on the Conant team that went 22-0 during the 2009-2010 season en route to their 4th straight championship. This year as a senior he was selected as a Division III first team all-state player by the NH Notebook as well as the NHBCO. He's one of the top 15 ranked players in the Class of 2011.

And now Ezra Hodgson (pictured left) has committed to continue his education and his basketball career at SUNY Platssburgh, a D-III school located in New York.

Hodgson informed the NH Notebook of his decision following the Boys Seniors Game at the North vs. South Clash a few weeks back. At SUNY Plattsburgh he will play alongside Mike Mitchell (Milford HS) who committed to the school back at the end of January. At the time, the Cardinals were ranked in the top 25 nationally in D-III. They didn't have any NH natives on the roster this year, but with Hodgson and Mitchell(pictured right), Plattsbugh will now have at least 2 for the next 4 years.

Hodgson is 6'6" forward who is a hard working, smart, fundamentally sound ballplayer. He is unselfish and is always willing to make whatever play or sacrifice is necessary for the better of the team. That's what's refreshing about talking to Hodgson or watching him play - it's all about the team, he doesn't care about stats. He has a lot of passion for the game of basketball, and he never takes a play off. He is also a very good leader.

The biggest attribute that will benefit Hodgson at the college level is the fact that at 6'6" he has the ability to knock down shots anywhere from 15-20 feet from the basket as well as any big man around. His height, along with his high release on his jumper allows him to get his shot off over virtually any defender. Hodgson also gets after it on the boards and takes pride in his defense as well.

Congrats to Ezra, and best of luck at SUNY Plattsburgh!
