On Tuesday night at the Concord Sports Center was an evening to remember for New Hampshire baseball. Winnisquam High School senior Jordan Cote signed a contract with the New York Yankees, at a facility that was jam-packed with friends, family and media, all there to congratulate Cote on his accomplishment, wish him good luck and document this prestigious occasion.
Cote is a 6'5" pitcher who was the 2011 Gatorade Player of the Year. He led Winnisquam to the Class M title as a junior, when he threw a no-hitter in the championship game vs. Somersworth. Over his four year high school pitching career he had a 31-2 record, and as a senior his earned run average (ERA) was less than 1.00.
Cote had previously signed a National Letter of intent to play at Coastal Carolina Univeristy, but instead he will now head to Tampa, Florida and begin play in the Yankee's Minor League system.
