It may be football season, but there are 2 major exposure events happening this weekend on the hardwood. On Saturday it's the New England Elite 75 Showcase for the boys, and on Sunday it's the New England Classic event for the girls. Both of these events are sure to attract many college coaches and are a great opportunity for the many NH athletes who will be participating in them.
The New Hampshire Notebook will be at both events from 9 am - 6 pm covering all the action. We will have in depth recaps and player evaluations on the site over the next few days.
The Elite 75 is a showcase run by the New England Recruiting Report. It takes place every September and features the top freshmen and sophomore prospects in the New England region. This year's event will take place at the Mansfield Sports Plex, in Mansfield, MA. The players will be put through advanced drills/skill instruction before playing in exposure games.
Over 15 NH kids will be there, including Dimitri Floras (Kimball Union Academy), Mike Auger (New Hampton School) and Jourdain Bell (Bishop Brady HS).
The New England Classic returns this fall to the University of Southern Maine. The NH Notebook covered the event last year, and it was a great chance to see some of the region's best talent playing in some high level games. Our recap of last year's event can be found here.
The event is run by the New England Crusaders and The Basketball Academy. This year the event has expanded to include Massachusetts teams, in addition to teams from NH, ME and VT. There will also be 3 teams per state this year instead of 2 like there was last year. Each teams will play 2 games each.
A schedule for the event can be found here.
