Bedford With Big Win, Hands Hollis Its First Loss

Behind a big defensive effort, and 2 touchdowns from junior Mike Gardiner the Bedford High football team got a BIG win at home on Saturday afternoon by beating a Hollis-Brookline 14-7. Bedford has now won 5 games in a row, and they beat a previously unbeaten Hollis team.

Hollis senior lineman Robert Boiven suffered a knee injury in the 1st quarter and did not return. That played a big role in this game, as Bedford was able to shut down the Hollis running game, something nobody else has been able to do so far this season.

Bedford got both of their touchdown in a 4 minute span early in the 3rd quarter. Gardiner made a 34 yard interception returned for a TD, then he caught a 61 yard TD pass from QB James Caparell. Gardiner kicked both extra points to make it 14-0 Bedford.
