The Portsmouth High boys basketball team has won its second Division II championship in the last 4 years with a 58-33 win over Bedford. Kamahl Walker had one of the better title game performances in recent memory, with a game-high 22 points to go with 6 steals, 5 assists and 4 rebounds. He hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at halftime, and as a team Portsmouth forced 27 Bedford turnovers. The Clippers went up 40-16 with 1:50 left in the 3rd quarter and from there they cruised to the win.
Portsmouth's all-senior starting lineup of Walker, Bill Lane, Charlie Duprey, Gregg Tsougranis and Kyle DiCesare all played great basketball on both ends of the floor. Cameron Meservey led Bedford with 11 points in the loss, while teammate Trevor Fahmy had 9 points and 9 rebounds.
