John Langlois coached Somersworth High to a state championship in 2005, and then this past March in just his second season as head coach of the Bedford High boys basketball team the Bulldogs made it to the Division II title game. But this week Langlois called it quits, resigning as the boys basketball coach at Bedford.
Bedford High Athletic Director Bill Whitmore confirmed Langlois' resignation. Langlois coached Bedford in their first summer league game just this past Sunday, and before that game I actually spoke with him about the upcoming summer. He gave me no indication at that time that he would be stepping down, so this seems to be a very sudden move.
Langlois' assistant coaches Mark Elmendorf and Frank Moreno were both at Sunday's game as well. However there has been no word as of yet if one of them will be promoted to head coach or if Whitmore will be going with an outside hire. Stay tuned.
