Lunn to Play Basketball and Baseball at Keene St.

These days you see less and less multi-sport high school athletes. That's why it's even more impressive when you see it done at the college level. Former Bishop Guertin star Jeff Lunn plans on doing just that.

Lunn, who was an all-state player in both basketball and baseball at BG, will be playing both sports at Keene State College. Lunn is currently a freshman at Keene, which competes in the Division III's Little East Conference.

"Coaching Jeff was easy, he is a totally focused young adult who was dedicated to succeeding both on and off the court" said Bishop Guertin boys basketball coach Jim Migneault. "He was mentally and physically tough which contributed to him being able to balance his basketball and baseball careers in high school. Jeff put the team’s goals ahead of his personal goals and almost led us to a state championship."

At 6-foot-6, Lunn is a dominating forward on the basketball court with a strong, rugged frame. He has solid post moves and is very active on both the offensive and defensive boards. On the baseball field he uses his size as a pitcher to overpower opposing hitters.

"I believe that the added playing time he got as a senior is what accounted for his improved stats from his junior year to senior year" Migneault continued. "As a junior he really started coming on towards the end of the year and he just continued progressing right into his senior year. Jeff was a captain of our team his senior year and he took this role very seriously and worked as a mentor to all of our younger players. I believe that Jeff is going to have a very productive career at Keene because he is such a driven individual."
