The 2013 high school football season may be over, but we are still hard at work reviewing game film and Hudl videos in order to tweak the prospect rankings and get these athletes some exposure to help with their recruitment.
Today we are featuring 2 players who have flown under the radar. Marc Gaudet was a vital part of Concord's undefeated D-I state champion team, and Emmett Kiernan helped lead Keene to the D-I semi-finals. Although they may have been overshadowed by other guys on their team, both players are legit college prospects.
Kiernan's biggest asset is his size. You need to be big to play tight end at the next level. And simply put, there aren't many kids around who are as big, as mobile and can catch the football as well as him. He has those long strides which allow him to get down field in a hurry, has good hands and can also block when he's not catching it.
As for Gaudet, his main attributes are toughness and versatility. Of all the players on our 2014 prospect list, Gaudet is one of the very few who is a legit prospect on both sides of the ball. Depending on the team/system he goes to, he could be used as either on offense as a power back for short yard/goal line situations or as a change of pass back from a speed guy. Or he could be used on defense as a linebacker - was one of the top LB's in NH this year. He has good speed at LB, hits hard and has a nose for the ball.
