Londonderry Wins Big Over Memorial

(Article delayed due to power outage)

It was an impressive win for Coach Nate Stanton and the Londonderry Lancers 74-52 over Manchester Memorial. The Lancers got off to a hot start pulling ahead 21-7 after the first quarter. Londonderry hit 10 3-pointers on the night to keep the momentum in their favor.

Jake Coleman (#23) a freshman, led the way for Londonderry with 16 points. Cody Ball (#3) and Drew Coveney (#15) also scored in double figures for the Lancers.

Kabongo Ngalakulondi, Memorial’s lone returning starter from last year scored 14 points in a losing effort. The Crusaders saw some flashes from Trevon Maughn (#11) and Josh Simpson(#31) and will look to build on their effort moving forward.

Londonderry closed out the first half with a 39-24 lead and continued to push through for the rest of the game. They played well defensively forcing several turnovers in the closing quarters and lengthened their lead with great shooting from Coleman and Ball.

I look forward to seeing how both of these teams progress as we move through the season. With winter tournament in the next week both team will take a break from NHIAA action. Londonderry faces off against West and January 3rd and Memorial will square off with Salem. Final score Londonderry: 74, Memorial: 52.
