Phanor Signs on With Stonehill

The explosive, electrifying Donovan Phanor will continue his football career at Stonehill College. Phanor recently signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Skyhawks, who compete in the Division II's Northeast 10 Conference (NE-10). Phanor will play for head coach Robert Talley, who is the school's all-time wins leader and was a finalist for the 2013 Liberty Mutual D2 Coach of the Year award.

"It was down to Stonehill and St. A's for me" Phanor told the NH Notebook. "Both schools offered me scholarships. But Stonehill showed more interest, they were after me right from the beginning. I signed with them on national Signing Day."

Phanor was a standout for Portsmouth in all 3 phases of the game. He was a dual threat at QB, with the ability to score a touchdown on any play either by throwing or running with the football. Phanor is fast, athletic, has good moves in the open field and at the same time has strong pocket presence. Phanor also returned kicks and was an exceptional player on the defensive side of the football.

"I hope to earn a spot at DB" Phanor stated. "I like having the ball in my hands and scoring touchdowns, but I feel my best chance to play at the next level is at defensive back."

Phanor helped Portsmouth High win back-to-back Division III state championships during his sophomore and junior seasons. In his senior year he led the Clippers to the Division II title game and was named D-II Player of the Year.

Congrats to Phanor on this tremendous accomplishment and best of luck to him at Stonehill.
