ESPN NH's Friday Night Lights Football Poll - Week 2

Friday Night Lights on ESPN NH is back for another season of high school football coverage, bringing live coverage of the games on Friday nights and a recap show on Saturday mornings. Once again the program's staff, along with the Nashua Telegraph put out their weekly statewide top 10 teams.

Here is this week's poll...
1. Pinkerton
2. Concord
3. Exeter
4. Bedford
5. Winnacunnet
6. Portsmouth
7. Londonderry (Tie)
Windham (Tie)
9. Salem
10. Merrimack

Others Receiving Votes
Goffstown (3)
Plymouth (3)
South Nashua (3)
Trinity (2)
Milford (1)
BG (1)

Here is what my ballot looked like...
1. Pinkerton
2. Concord
3. Bedford
4. Exeter
5. Winnacunnet
6. Portsmouth
7. Londonderry
8. Windham
9. Salem
10. Merrimack

Just missing the cut on my ballot was St. Thomas, who impressed in a 48-0 win Saturday over Sanborn. Concord @ Winnacunnet and Bedford @ Portsmouth are 2 big games on Friday night, which are sure to shake up the rankings. Trinity vs. Windham is a big early season showdown in D-II. We'll have all 3 games covered here on the NH Notebook.

Also, for anyone opposed to the 3 division format, it should be noted that only 2 of the top 6 and 4 of the top 10 teams in this week's poll were D-I teams when there were 6 divisions. Back when there were 6 divisions, D-II was typically just as strong and just as deep as D-I and we're seeing that again this year.
