Prep School Breakdown - Girls Basketball

Here's a breakdown of which local basketball players are now at prep schools. It's no secret that many of the state's top prospects have been leaving the NHIAA for the NEPSAC. Just this past off-season, seven of the top players in the NHIAA last year transferred to prep school.

Ashley Berube and Mayson Kimball will both be repeating their junior years at the Tilton School. Berube is leaving Londonderry High, despite the fact that the Lancers have won back-to-back D-I titles. The 6-foot-2 forward was the most dominant player in D-I girls hoops last season, before suffering a torn ACL late in the season. Kimball led Merrimack Valley to its first girls basketball state title in 2014 as a sophomore, and then last season as a junior she got even better, expanding her game out to the perimeter. Both are potential scholarship prospects. They join junior forward Gabrielle Hunter (Bedford, NH) on the Tilton roster. The Rams will once again have one of the region's top prep school squads.

Eva Hodgson, Angelique Ngalakulondi and Nicolette Arnold were top 3 freshmen players in the NHIAA last winter - all 3 of them transferred to prep school. 2 of them already have D-I scholarship offers, as Hodgson has been offered by UNH and Fordham, while Arnold received an offer from Rhode Island. Hodgson leaves Conant High, where she just led the Orioles to an undefeated championship season for the New Hampton School. She'll team up with juniors Kaitlyn Petrocelli (Merrimack, NH) and Rebecca Ripley (Stratham, NH) who just committed to Miami. Hodgson will be a sophomore, while Ngalakulondi and Arnold are repeating their freshman years and reclassifying to 2019. Ngalakulondi leaves Manchester Central to play at Proctor along with junior point guard Amanda Torres, while Arnold transfers from Pinkerton to Lawrence Academy. Arnold will play at Lawrence alongside junior wing Abby Streeter, who transfers there from Bishop Guertin. Also, Mikala Eacrett, a guard from Londonderry High is transferring to Proctor Academy where she will also repeat her freshman year and reclassify to 2019.
